About twenty museums scattered throughout the country held simultaneous guided tours for solidarity.
The next 11 November the European Tourism Day is celebrated. The initiative launched in 2009, by the European Network of Wine Cities (RECEVIN) It is celebrated in countries like Italy, France and Portugal, in addition to Spain, and it aims to promote wine territories as economic assets and stimulate wine, a sector that is increasingly demand and acceptance.
For this reason, Museums Association of Wine Spain first proposed collective action of its museums, to join the different activities scheduled for that day, Free Tours by offering its facilities and exhibitions during the weeklong celebration of the European Day of Wine Tourism. Eighteen museums association members, which currently it consists of over thirty partners, They add in this way to showcase their spaces and collections on the culture of wine and its peculiarities in each region of the country in a coordinated manner. Participants will enjoy museums and regions such as Castilla y León, Asturias, The Rioja, Andalusia, Catalonia, Estremadura, Aragon and Valencia.
To support the project, and under the existing cooperation agreement between the Museums of Wine and Acevin, Wine Routes of Spain propose to turn participation in this initiative wine museums belonging to the group that are not yet part of the Museums Association of Spain Wine.
Funds raised at the Free Tours will be donated to the Foundation Aladina, to support its commendable work to help children and adolescents with cancer and their families.
